KAITLYN MITCHELL

We are delighted to welcome Kaitlyn Mitchell (@kaitlyn.emitchell) to Winnipeg VegFest 2023!

Kaitlyn is a lawyer and director of legal advocacy with Animal justice (@animaljustice_) – Canada’s leading national animal law organization. She joined Animal Justice in 2019 after spending more than a decade practicing public interest environmental law, working to address environmental injustice and environmental racism in Canada. At Animal Justice, Kaitlyn’s work includes strengthening the Canadian Environmental Protection Act to phase out toxicity testing on animals through the recently passed Bill S-5, combatting the spread of agricultural gag (“ag gag”) laws in Canada, advocating for a ban on the live export of horses for slaughter overseas, and appearing in courts of all levels to represent the interests of animals. Kaitlyn graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2007 after receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Winnipeg.
